Oxycontin is a slow-release opiate-like analgesic that is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Oxycontin tablets have a special coating that allows the slow release of medication. Purdue Pharma is still conducting studies to prove that the new OP Oxycontin tablets really do lower the drug abuse cases, as ordered by the Food and Drug Administration. OP Oxycontin is a great new drug,and only time can reveal if this new medication is the solution to the serious problem of drug addiction.
