I have been a professional musician for over 20 years and have bought and sold to all the option I’ve listed above. This first option I suggested was the option toy buy from a local music shop. One great advantage of this is that you have the opportunity to physically play the guitar and feel if it’s a good fit for you. You can additionally have a “test drive” and see how the guitar feels. If it feels good, then you at least know you will not hate it in a week. But one downfall to buying from music store is the price factor. Most likely, this option will be more expensive that other options and you will have to pay taxes as well.
Another option I suggested is to buy a used acoustic guitar online. Finding online deals on used guitars acoustic can be hard but can also be very reworking. Like many things online, you need to be careful when making a purchase. You need to be fully confident that your purchase is legit and that you’re no getting ripped off. One rule of thumb to keep in mind when looking for used acoustic guitars online is sticking to brands that you have heard of. If you’ve never heard of the company that manufactured the guitar, stay away from it. This way, you can only stick to brand names that have a solid reputation for making quality products.
The last option I sighted above is buying a used acoustic guitar from a pawnshop. You can certainly find great deals at a pawnshop but just make sure that you don’t need to do a bunch of work on the item is order to make it function properly.
