Most boys experience the full throttle of being in a relationship during high-school. This is the period that is marked by the most pleasant feelings given by the first kiss, the first sexual experience and what not, the first really painful breakup.
Every guy in high-school wants to feel like a man by having sex with as many women as possible. It’s a craving that is so powerful that if is unfulfilled for too much longer it makes you angry, frustrated and anti-social. You want that girl, and it doesn’t happen as you want it to happen, and that makes you mad. You think you love the girl, when in fact, the lust is so powerful that you cannot tell whether you want her because she is incredibly attractive or because you think you two are a good match. In high-school you mainly want girls for sex, even if you are a big believer of long term relationships.
So now, you want to learn how to attract a girl and to make her see how worthy you are right? Because essentially that’s what’s missing in this picture. She is not attracted to you and you want to change that around. You feel desire for her and you want to fulfill that desire.
You are probably expecting me to tell you some general information about how guys get themselves to be more attractive towards women but think about it: will this general advice work on you? It will probably not be that affective. Like for instance, I can tell you that you need to be more funny, but how it’s that going to help you? Chances are it will not help you not even a bit.
The main problem guys have is that they thing that they can get away with manipulating women into liking them. On the long run, you can’t fool women, so you need to become more friendly to the authentic ‘you’, even when that means a lot of women won’t like you. High-school is no different in this respect.
At one point. you will like a girl and she will like you, and after a few dates, if things won’t work out as you wanted, you will get frustrated because she is not falling in love with you. You will realize that a girl liking you isn’t enough and you will then realize that now you have to learn how to make a girl fall in love with you too. A woman will fall in love with only if you are what she wants, so you don’t need to pressure her or get angry if that’s not happening.
So, how can you improve your authenticity? Well, there isn’t too much that I can do about it, nor anybody else for that matter. You have to look at yourself and see how much of who you really are in terms of capabilities and the way of being you are displaying outwardly and how much of it you are still reluctant to manifest.

Why is that high school kids have a big potential to get into trouble? Can woodworking projects at their local high school prevent them from getting into trouble and learn something besides the actual skill? I was wondering if this was not indeed one possible solution when I came across an article written by Mary Lisa Boose and entitled ‘Knock on Wood’. This article describes how a woodworking class taken at Ohio’s Norwalk High School by four high school students impacted on their lives. Each of the students Johnie Wilcox, Ryan Ziemke , Hannah Duncan and Eric Benton have different views on the benefits they perceive as having received as a result of their woodworking training.
Students first start with easy woodworking and then have to work their way up to the advanced woodworking classes. One of the teachers, Chris Jackson, makes the observation that he had realised that the students became more critical of their work and also more confident over the years. The result of this was that they started paying more attention to detail in the woodworking classes, but also in general.
A cedar chest with finger joints (interlocking joints at the corner of a piece) was the project chosen by Johnie Wilcox. According to Wilcox, he noticed that he is able to pay attention to detail in his woodworking projects whilst he would typically get restless in for instance a history class. This has made him realise that he prefers being involved in something that involves activity, and has prompted him to investigate more physically active occupational directions.
Ryan Ziemke is another student in one of the advanced woodworking classes. He completed the same project as Johnie, consisting of a small cedar chest with finger joints. Although he plans to study marketing at Kent State University and will therefore not be pursuing woodworking as a career, Ryan is convinced that the skills he has gained through woodworking will benefit him for the remainder of his life. He has been taught patience, both in having to go back and correct mistakes, and in making sure that the finger joints used in the construction of the chest fit together perfectly.
Hannah Duncan decided on doing a very ambitious project – a roll-top desk. She loves the way that woodworking allows her to create something with her hands. This means that she can take a break from intellectual learning and ‘get out of her head’. When doing this, she is no longer absorbed in compulsive thought, but rather present in the moment. This illustrates the spiritual benefits that could be derived from woodworking.
Eric Benton passionately describes the deep satisfaction that he feels when he has created something out of bare wood – in this a trough-style bookcase. According to Eric, he does not plan to do woodworking as a career but it will always be a part of his life. Eric plans to become a youth pastor. One example of how he could apply what he has learnt would be teaching woodworking skills to a church youth group.
The four students described in the article have each taken specific benefits from their woodworking class. Although these were experienced in different ways, there is no doubt that woodworking projects could be a positive experience for many others.
