Sponsored by Natural Healers, Melanie Rubin presented a 1 1/2 day training in Denver on "Effective Admissions and Lead Conversion" for four massage schools from Arizona and Colorado. Here are some of the participant comments from this event:"Melanie is very competent and her facilitation skills are excellent! There were many good ideas. This training has served as a catalyst to help us evaluate and improve our admissions work. Having the opportunity to break out as a school team from time to time allowed us to consider and plan for the implementation of new ideas."
Jack Vandenberg, Admissions Representative, Boulder College of Massage Therapy, Boulder, CO "Both Melanie and Blake made the workshop fun and enlightening. I found almost all aspects of the workshop useful, and will be implementing many of the points that were covered to improve lead conversion. I enjoyed the workshop and would like to do more.
Great job Melanie!!!"
Alma Bocanegra, Admissions and Administration, Northern Arizona Massage Therapy Institute, Sedona, AZ "Thank you Blake and Melanie. We are excited to take these techniques back and implement them. I enjoyed going over follow-up procedures, using the phone scripts and worksheets, and talking with the other schools about the information and receiving their feedback."
Kelli Chenkovich, Co-director of Admissions, Aveda Institute, Denver, Colorado "This workshop was great:
-the ideas on lists and worksheets that I may be able to use
-the discussions of what other schools are/are not doing that works/doesn’t work
-the effect that just covering and discussing these things had on my own brain, generating new ideas and making new connections in a practical way.
-and it was well organized!"

Early this month MassagePROFIT.com completed a four-month Continuing Education series in Albuquerque, New Mexico entitled "Full Practice Success for Massage Therapists and Other Wellness Practitioners." This program was designed to help participants become very successful in their practices, however they personally define success. Here are comments from students:"This program encourages and promotes efforts to create a successful business with integrity according to the entrepreneur's dreams. Melanie's passion for utility combined with interactive artistry in facilitation is very effective. Our work together helped me discern where my business strengths and weaknesses lie." Karla Koch, ND, DOM, RN "What I found most helpful was how you made things simple, clarified what steps to take, and made suggestions to help each of us. I also appreciate your 'business' presence and inspirational leadership. I would definitely recommend this program to others!" Zaida Amaral, Feng Shui Consultant and Community Development Facilitator "Melanie is very creative and never boring. She is articulate and succinct and very good at keeping the class together and on track."
Sarah Ferrell, Licensed Massage Therapist "I liked the experiential exercises, the clear questions on the worksheets that helped me look at each topic piece by piece without becoming overwhelmed, and the ease and calm confidence with which Melanie moved through the entire course."
Melissa Wood, Licensed Social Worker Melanie Rubin anticipates presenting this program again in the near future, although a date has not yet been set.

March 15, 2006 "We are pleased to welcome Melanie Rubin as a faculty member at Crystal Mountain School of Therapeutic Massage," says Linda Delker, director of Crystal Mountain. "Melanie brings a whole new element of professionalism and business expertise to our program and our students."
Melanie Rubin has joined the faculty at Crystal Mountain School of Therapeutic Massage to assist in redesigning and presenting the business curriculum to current and incoming day and evening classes. During the spring of 2006 she will partner with Stephanie Racette, another faculty member, to deliver the remaining business classes to currently enrolled day and evening students. Over the summer Crystal Mountain will be providing new continuing education classes to help recently graduated students, and other therapists in the New Mexico community, enhance their ability to succeed financially as massage therapists. When the next day and evening classes begin, in July and September, the business program will be dramatically expanded, giving Crystal Mountain the most in-depth business curriculum of any massage school in the state of New Mexico.
"Working with Crystal Mountain is an exciting development and, as an educator, a wonderful opportunity," said Melanie Rubin. "The students are great to work with and so enthusiastic - they really want this information - and we're having FUN creating a business education program that's both engaging and effective." |
